Hey! I'm Nick Ducko, a production sound recordist with 13 years of experience in the audio industry. I’m currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, and I’ve worked with production crews nationwide.

I’m always down to hit the road to be a part of a project if it’s a great fit.

My interest in audio has been an ever-present part of my life. I was musically active as a child—played trumpet in marching band, sang in church choir, played bass guitar in garage bands… and then when I got to college I discovered my true passion: recording and mixing audio. My first audio gig came out of a noise complaint during my freshman year of college. My resident mentor came by my dorm room late one evening to ask me to turn down my music. He then asked me if I'd be interested in helping him out with a student sketch show. That was my first time recording sound for video, and since then I've expanded from student sketches to feature films and commercial productions.

I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a BA in media arts with a cognate in sound engineering. Since media arts was a more visually-focused program, I forged my own path for sound working between the media arts department and the school of music recording department.

My career portfolio consists of on-location and post-production for feature films, commercials, narrative shorts, web series, and theatre productions. I welcome the challenge of customizing audio solutions for every client project and seeking opportunities to maximize efficiency in the audio production process. A previous supervisor once described me as, "Hard working. Hyper-focused on making himself obsolete, perhaps?" If I can find a way to produce better work with new software and sound technology, I will…even if it means I’m no longer needed. My top priority is always to produce the highest quality audio.
